Okay, so we just got back from my family's reunion. Wow. Really, it's hard to find the words. I am constantly amazed by how..interesting my family is. I guess there are things I don't realize until we're altogether. Things I love and miss, things that make me absolutely crazy...I nearly became an orphan during the ride up. It took us nearly 10 hours to make an almost 7 hour trip. 7 hours is long enough, but when you have a 3 year old and a smoker in the car and when it turns into 10 hours...well, let's just say it didn't start out well. But it was fun enough and I saw family members I'd not seen in ages and ages, including my cute Uncle Harvey (my grandma's brother) who told me he carried my picture in his wallet for 20 years!! How cute is that??? My cousins Christina and Eleazar also made the trip up from San Diego and it was beyond wonderful to hang out with them!! We had so much fun we've decided to try to make it to San Diego for our family vacation next summer! Good times! Anyway, here are some pictures:
The sibs (minus Alicia who lives in VA--we're letting her off the hook) My brother Jeremy, sister Brandi and moi
Brandi's son Branden with the 6 kajillion fish he caught during the course of the weekend. You couldn't keep the pole out of that kid's hand and he smelled like fish all weekend! I love this little monkey.
Brandi's younger son, Carson and his dirty little face. I swear all of the kids, including Jack, were filthy within moments of waking up in the morning!
Scott and Jack next to a totem pole in Culdesac, ID (on the Nez Perce Indian Reservation)
Jack with his "dirt shiner" Man, the kid was filthy. Hilarious!
I LOVE this picture! My grandma wanted a picture of her (present) great-grandchildren. Jack and Carson were fighting for the toy gun and ultimately, Carson won. Jack was mad at Scott for taking the picture and Carson was no happier!
Scott and Jack looking at the fish in the lake. Well, those that Branden didn't catch! ;o)
Awww..fer cute! Me and Brandi. It's so amazing that we used to drive each other up the wall and now we're besties. I love it!!
2 smart remarks:
Who is the smoker?
My mother is the smoker. I almost became an orphan. Seriously, it was bad. I've never been so close to being on an episode of COPS in my life...
