FFA# 18: "Because your kiss, your kiss is on my list..."

Well, kiddos--it's that happy time again--Friday Free for All! After a summer hiatus, we are back with a vengeance. Good times. Be sure to check out the FFA link on the left (click on the human FFA picture) to read others' submissions. Always good for a laugh or at least to waste some time. Anyhoo..this week's topic, chosen by Jenni, is:

The Top 20 ___________.

I am going to go ahead and skip out of the bitter barn and list "The Top 20 Things That Make Me Happy." (See? I promised to be more upbeat today! Seeing as how I have yet to heave and/or pee myself, it's a good day.) Okay, strap in--here we go!

The Top 20 Things That Make Me Happy (in no particular order!)
1. My sweet husband who worked all day and then came home and scrubbed our walls and floors. He also rubbed my back while I was kneeling at the toilet praying for sudden death. He has been woefully neglected lately and hasn't complained once. What a sweet boy.
2. The house doesn't smell so bad today (probably because of the aforementioned Boy who is really quite wonderful). I don't know if he plugged in some sort of air freshener or something, but it actually smells pretty good around here!
3. I feel pretty good today. Not overly tired or nauseated--I may actually accomplish more than watching E! True Hollywood Story today.
4. Jack. That kid is hilarious and I love him. He was rubbing my back along with Scott yesterday and said, "I'm sorry you're sick." Awww buddy! This morning he said, "You should take toilet paper in the car in case you're driving and need to puke." My heck, he kills me.
5. Heritage Makers--I know it sounds lame, but I'm really excited that I have a super cute, really easy way to do something with the pictures that I take and that I've been given. I'm happy that Jack can read the stories of our family members and know what he is capable of becoming and overcoming because his family members have.
6. We are homeowners! Everything aside, it's nice to be in a place that is OURS. I really am excited to make new memories here.
7. Friends (while these are in no particular order, I really should have mentioned this before): I am so grateful for good friends who love me and support me whether I'm up or down (and even if I'm not exactly sure myself.) I have been the recipient of so much love and service lately--friends who have packed my old house up (even if I wasn't home!), friends who helped us move, who unpacked and painted and who have called to say they miss me. I'm seriously so lucky to have such wonderful friends.
8. We magically have cable. I'm sure it won't last long--the renters probably just haven't transferred it to their new place yet. All I know is that when I'm lying on the couch trying not to move, it's nice to have more to watch than Judge Judy.
9. I'm hungry. This is good news!
10. The Gospel: Ooops. Something else that probably should be higher on the list! ha ha. I'm grateful to know who I am, where I came from and what I'm capable of becoming. I'm happy to know that I will be with my cute family after this life and I'm grateful for the peace of the Holy Spirit and the power of the Priesthood.
11. Speaking of--I'm so glad The Boy is a worthy Priesthood holder and that I can tell my son to look to his father as an example. This blesses me in more ways than I can even begin to express.
12. I'm pregnant! Barfing and wetting aside--it's a miracle. We tried for nearly 2 years and while the timing is...interesting at best...I am so grateful. I was beginning to worry Heavenly Father didn't trust me with His children! (I'm really actually serious!) I'm glad Jack will have a little friend to play with and grow up with and I'm glad we will have the opportunity to learn from an awesome little spirit so fresh from heaven. I can't wait for the 2nd trimester when I will feel better, feel the baby move and can be more enthusiastic.
13. The sandbox outside. It keeps Jack busy for HOURS. Scott said that the other day he was digging and he got to the plastic part of the bottom of the sandbox. He gasped and said, "Daddy! Is this China????" LOL! He thought that since he hit the bottom of the sandbox it must be China. He loves it and when he's digging, there is nothing else in the world that matters. I'm happiest when he's happy!
14. My Grandma: She is so amazing. That woman has been through it ALL and has gleaned enormous strength from it. No one in the world loves me as much as my grandma does. She's my hero!
15. Blogging. Blogging makes me so happy! I love to have a safe place where I can spew all my random musings. It's SOOOO therapeutic!
16. Cherry Coke. Cherry Coke makes me happy. I can't drink it right now, but look forward to the day when I can. ;o)
17. Chex Mix. I can eat Chex Mix..mmm...Chex Mix...I spy breakfast!
18. Speaking French. This makes me happy because not only is it a sense of accomplishment and helps me feel...I don't know. Not necessarily "worldly" because that's not a good thing, but...I don't know what I'm trying to say. It makes me feel a part of something bigger than myself. Plus it's awesome when I want to say something and don't want others to understand.
19. Deodorant makes me happy. I got all reminiscent, thinking about France and have decided that it makes me happy not to stink. ;o)
20. FFA!! It makes me happy to have a topic GIVEN to me to blog about instead of having to come up with something creative all on my own. Creativity is NOT what I do well. ;o)

Wow! I must be really emotional today (I blame aunt Flo. Huh, did I just announce that to the world?) Anyway, you made me think of all the things that make me happy. Thanks!

Aw, shucks. You went all warm and fuzzy! There ought to be some good and happy emotion out of us every once in a while, huh!

Loved the China bit. Made me laugh out loud.

Great post! Welcome back!

Oh my gosh, Peg... LOVED the post! Jack is HILARIOUS! I can't decide which is funnier, that he thought he'd literally dug to China... or that he's advising you to take tissue with you in the car so you'll have it handy, should you need to puke. What a funny, sweet kid. It's GREAT to have you back! :)

I knew I'd make the list! Okay, so yeah, not like I was named directly as #1, or anything, but we're friends, right? So techinically, I'm SO on there!
