Hello friends. Has it really been 2 weeks since my last post? Hmmm...well, I wouldn't want you all losing sleep over the events of our lives since then so here is an update--take it for what it's worth!
Feb 19th, I flew out to Virginia for my sister's wedding. I'd been planning to go forever but then we thought we couldn't afford it so I had to tell her I wouldn't be coming after all. Towards the end of January, Scott was looking online at airline prices and saw a ticket for $184 round trip (he also found tickets to Europe for under $1000 for both of us but I can't think on that too long and hard or I'll get all weepy) He called and told me that I should go, that there will never be an easier time to go since right now we only have 1 child to leave in someone's care while he works (he's saving up his time off for when the bebe comes) and I need to be there for my sister and meet my niece, etc. So we bought the tickets and I called my sister's fiance to let him know I was coming, but told him not to tell anyone. I don't know how we kept the secret--especially him who had to listen to my poor sister sob her little heart out that she wouldn't have any family at her wedding! So it was finally time to go out there and while I'm so glad that I was able to go, please pay careful attention to the following public service announcement: If you ever think that flying at 28 weeks gestation is a good idea--go ahead and kill yourself now because trust me, you will be praying for a swift death while in the air. I swear I was so incredibly uncomfortable I couldn't think about anything else. (Although I have to say that at the beginning of the flight, before I wanted to end it all, I finished reading "the Wednesday Letters" and was sobbing! There is really no telling what the poor man next to me was thinking!) Anyway, the plane FINALLY landed and there was my cute brother-in-law to be, waiting for me. We had to stop for gas before going back to the house and I had to pee like crazy (I thought about going on the plane, but A. Dude next to me slept for most of the flight. Jerk. and B. I had visions of the plane going down and my dying with my britches around my ankles. That's just not how I want to go, you know?) So I REALLY had to go. Unfortunately--remember this, pretty priceless passing people--gas stations in Virginia apparently don't have public restrooms, even if you're gigantically pregnant and it's very clear you're about to burst. Southern hospitality my floating eye! He finally got me to a Burger King and saved my life. It had taken forever, though, my sister called him to see where he was because she needed to leave to go to her nail appointment. (Apparently, he told her he was going to get her wedding present from him) He made up some story about how it was sent to the wrong store and he had to go to Richmond and when he got there, he saw that it was broken so he had to take care of that...she wasn't happy! We got to the house and he ducked behind a bush while I knocked on the door. One of my twin nephews answered (these boys are now 14 years old--they were 3 when I last saw them!!) I asked if his mom was home, trying to say as little as possible so he wouldn't recognize my accent. He had no idea who I was. He went to get her and I followed him in. There were some people in the living room surprised that a total stranger had just walked on into the house. My sister Alicia came around the corner and didn't say a word. She just put her hands over her mouth and started crying. It was so great! We were hugging and crying so hard (I've never snort-cried before this moment!) and even her friends (who figured out who I was) were crying. It was awesome. After a few minutes, she went with her friends to get their nails done and I stayed with the kids. My nephews were so cute and were fighting over which one was going to get to give up his room for me and they weren't too cool to let me hug and kiss them over and over again. Such sweethearts. My niece Hannah was glued to my side and was thrilled that I let her play with my cell phone. We ran errands for last-minute preparations the next day (So we're at KFC and the lady behind the counter keeps telling Alicia, "You look so familiar to me! I swear I know you from somewhere!" I laughed and said, "Have you ever been to prison?" Alicia gives me the big-sister-stink-eye and the lady says, "Yeah, but that's not it..." Ooops! Serves me right, I guess!) We rehearsed the wedding later that afternoon (I offended one of her bridesmaids by disagreeing that all the candles in the candelabra should be white--it looked like a baptism!) and the next day, we were all so excited for the festivities. The wedding went great (although I still shudder at the thought of a "click it" used to light the unity candles!) and it was a lot of fun. The next day, I split the day into 3 parts and took each of the kids individually to do whatever they wanted. Hunter, the oldest twin, wanted chocolate chip pancakes at what we would later refer to as "the world's smallest IHOP", Hannah wanted to spend a few hours at the Virginia Air and Space Museum (very cool!) and Austin (youngest twin)wanted to go see "Push" at the theatre. It was so great to spend so much time with them. I had to leave early the next day and the night before, my sweet Hannah was begging me to stay and when I peeked in to see if she'd gone to sleep, she hadn't. She was just lying in bed with tears streaming down her cheeks. It was heart-wrenching! I left early the next morning for the long flight home. The first leg of the flight wasn't too bad but the second leg, from Minneapolis to Salt Lake was excruciating. I swear I was hoping the plane would go down just so I could get out of my seat! I was in so much pain from SITTING that I was sweating. When the lady next to me woke up, she thought I was in labor. It was just awesome. Anyway, I finally made it home alive and swore I would never fly pregnant again!!! I would post pictures of the adventure, but lost my camera on the plane. GRRRRRRR....
In other news, our dearest Lisa (a.k.a. Stinky Butt Girl) has come back to stay with us! She lived with us before and then after Jack was born--she's wonderful and easily one of my best friends. She's going to be going to grad school this fall but needed a job before then. She's looked for a job in Idaho but hasn't found anything so she came here to give it a whirl. It's been great having her here--Jack is in heaven with someone who can chase him around and I love having a helper! She did find a job and will start working on Friday. We're happy--this means she'll get to stay here--and all is well.
Pregnancy update: I'm to the point now where I'm no longer comfortable at all. I feel like it's hard to breathe, my organs are all smooshed up so I have this awesome cramping sensation under my ribcage and a pinched nerve in my back which causes really cool sharp pains that I just love. I'm pretty much only comfortable if I'm lying down and even then it's hard to breathe. My midwife prescribed Lortab for the pain but all it did was get me high--it didn't even dull the pain. Only 10 more weeks to go! It's funny that when I think in terms of what we still need to do to get ready for Lizzy's arrival, it seems so close but when I think about being in pain and unable to sleep and cranky (pray for my poor much-yelled-at family!) it seems like it's SO far away!!
Anyway, that's all that's new these days. (Of course I'm leaving out adventures of dog-diarrhea) If you've made it to the end of this eternal post, you are a true friend indeed!!

What an awesome suprise! I love it when it works that well.
I love the wedding surprise story. How awesome for your sister and her family. I'm sorry it sucked so bad to fly. The last trimester is the pits. Good luck!
Holy CATS! I don't think I caught before that the baby will be Lizzy! How fun! Ella is actually Elizabeth, and oft referred to as "Lizzy-Loo" or "Miss Elizabeth" (particularly when I've recently glimpsed Mr. Darcy rambling around some movie....)!
Becca--that IS funny! (And Ella was one of our choices as well!) She's going to be Elisabeth Louise. I will confess that its charm is largely Pride and Predjudice but we spelled it with an S because one of my best friend's names is Lisa so she's right smack dab in the middle. ;o) We often refer to the baby as "Lizzy-Lou" What a funny coincidence!
I love your adventures!
Oh, Peg... It's so great to hear from you again! I knew from your twittering that you'd gone to the wedding, but it's still just SO much more fun to read the play-by-plays in blog form. I'm so glad you were able to go, and that the surprise worked that well. (I'm also glad that you got home safely without having to die from pain and/or exhaustion... oh, or a swollen bladder... on said plane.)
