1. I made peanut butter bars yesterday. I think each one has like 6 bajillion calories in it. That's what makes them so good!
2. Why is it that time goes so slow when you're looking forward to something and then when it comes, it ends really quickly? Hmm..
3. Now, I only saw bits and pieces of the Oscars last night (I was mostly just mad that Grey's Anatomy wasn't on!) but it seemed to me that EVERYONE was wearing black and Charlize Theron had an unfortunately large bow on her left shoulder...
4. I really like wearing black. It's one of the 6 colors that I wear.
5. So The Boy has put the smack down on my spending. This is probably a good thing as I am at one with my spending problem. While you guys fully supported it, he was not as impressed with the "Elmo is my homeboy" t-shirt that I paid $23 for. (Nor was he impressed with the fact that I bought ANOTHER one for the same price that said, "King of the Little People.") That's just crazy talk.
6. I'm wearing contacts today and they're giving me a headache. Of course, it could also my regular Diet Coke and Tootsie Roll breakfast (although today, for some variety, I also ate some carrots.)
7. In the middle of Sharing Time in Primary yesterday, I told the munchkins I was looking for the most reverent helpers so they needed to be really quiet and fold their arms so I could pick them to help me. I was in the middle of a story when they started to get jittery and started talking a little. I stopped and said (in my best Primary voice) "I hear talking...remember I need reverent helpers! Are you all listening?" I heard this little voice in the back say, "No..." Well, they're nothing if not honest.
8. I'm looking for the straight skinny on sewing machines, as I'm currently in the market. If anyone would like to lend their expertise pertaining to said purchase, I would welcome it. What brand is best? Where is the best place to procure one? How much should I spend on one that I will have for the rest of my life but that doesn't need to be super snazzy?
9. I got this email today from an unnamed source bragging about the fact that when they were children, they rode standing up in cars and their cribs were painted with lead-based paint, blah blah blah and THEY"RE still alive! This bothered me. While I agree that life is WAY too easy for kids these days, we KNOW things now that we didn't know then and with that knowledge comes a certain amount of responsibility to keep kids safe. Children will fall down and they will be disappointed and they need to learn to live with those things...but to say, "my parents never buckled ME into a car seat, so I'm not going to worry about buckling MY kids in" is just STUPID.
10. If you've never tried the Kirkland Brand of shampoo from Costco, I highly recommend it. My hair is LITERALLY squeaky clean today. And I'm normally a pampered Biolage girl!
