So when we first moved in here, my dearest darling Jami helped me paint my kitchen cupboards (since she paints her's once every few months she's the expert!) and quite a few of you wanted me to post pictures when we finished. I never did. Did what you ask? Finish? Or post the pictures? Um, both. I put a top coat over it, but used a roller instead of a brush so it didn't look so hot. I asked Scott to slap another coat of paint over it (since this was when I was Madame Barfsalot) but he never got around to it. Well, I decided to do it while he was out of town (Instead of being bitter that he never did it. I'm telling you, #7 friends!) so I put a couple coats of black over it and put the hardware back on (we're such dorks--it's been 5 months and we just now have hardware on our cabinets!) and this is the (almost) finished product. (I say "Almost" because I need probably 2 more coats of red on that wall--it looks splotchy still--and I need to scrape the black paint off the glass!) Anyhoo--here you go. I quite like the black:
And that, Danielle, is what I was doing with my cabinets. ;o)
4 smart remarks:
i love the red wall and the black cabinets. also, you are not a dork, i have lived in my house two and a half years and still no hardware on my cabinets. whose the dork now???
p.s.: thanks for all the potty tips.
Love it! I have always wanted black cabinets, next house I suppose. Don't you love waiting around for something to get done?
Danielle
I can't remember when I painted my cabinets. Seriously, it's been at least 10 years. I still do not have all the hardware purchased and it was cheap. (I wonder if Lowes still carries it) Probably because I had aver 70 knobs to purchase. Anyway, little people, just like big people have trouble getting them open. that is not all that bad at times.
Congratulations!
Oh, I love this.
