It tastes better than it looks!!

So I was blogstalking yesterday (it's my favorite pasttime, so much more socially acceptable than ACTUAL stalking, which I don't recommend!) and my dearest Nol-Bird was saying that she could really go for some pain au chocolat and a Diet Coke. Well, if you don't know me by now, you will never never never know me. I'm pretty much ALWAYS dying for pain au chocolat. (Remember this post?) So one of her mission companions posted a comment saying she had a great recipe on her blog for pain au chocolat you can make at home and it's so easy that even kids can do it. Well, friends, this spoke to me (pierced my heart, if you will) since A. you know I love me some p au c and B. I'm currently working on (and rocking, if I do say so myself!) #7 so I headed over chez elle and got the recipe. Except that there's really no recipe. It's like this:
You need a can of Pilsbury Crescent Rolls (I used the buttery flakey ones) and some chocolate chips (she says use milk chocolate, but real pain au chocolat is more semi-sweet. However, I personally prefer milk chocolate. Whatever. Follow your heart.) Unroll the crescent rolls and put chocolate chips on the fat end like this:

Of course, if your kids are helping, they'll probably ascribe to Jack's wise philosophy when he said, "Mom, I think I should put ONE on the dough and ONE in my mouth! Isn't that a great idea?"

Then you roll 'em up (watch the chocolate chips--they kind of fall out a little, just tuck 'em back in) and bend them so they're crescent shaped and put them on a cookie sheet. Bake them according to the package directions (I want to say 350 for 13 minutes? I don't remember.) And when you're done, they'll look like this:

Yes, I KNOW it looks a bit like poo in a blanket, but it's not. It's delicious and it'll change your life. And maybe your kids will have as much fun as Jack saying "pain au chocolat" over and over and over again. (Pronounced "pan oh shoh-ko-lah)

You know, when ever I make "crescent" rolls, I never curve them into the crescent shape... I guess I never realized that until this very moment! :) I'm such a dork.
